ATHLETICS Circuit Training with Mike Black Fridays from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. This class will be ongoing into the winter months. Participants of all ages will move through a variety of stations set up in a circuit. The exercises will focus on challenging all muscle groups, with emphasis on balance, co-ordination & flexibility. This is for all ages and all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your workout shoes with you. Cost: $5 pay as you go
Low Impact Aerobics Monday & Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. This one-hour class will get your heart rate up with 20 minutes of low-impact aerobics. Then work on toning muscles. A stretch and cool down rounds out the hour. Time flies when you're having fun. Designed for all ages. Work at your own pace and make new friends too. Pay as you go, $4 per class, or $20 for 6 classes. (Note: No Monday classes in July and August.) There will be no classes on the following dates: Wednesday, November 12; Monday, November 17; Monday, November 24; Monday, December 1; and Monday, December 15. The last class before the holidays will be Wednesday, December 17. Classes resume Monday, January 5, 2009.
Yoga Yoga classes will be offered again in the new year, beginning January 11. Lawrie Keillor-Faulkner is your instructor and will work with beginners and the more advanced. 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Classes run for 9 weeks for $90. Register and pay at the Centre.
Our Gym The Centre has a small room with a universal gym, tread mill, free weights, etc. It may be small but it can still help you get into shape. A very reasonable fee of $10 per rmonth plus a $10 BCC membership is all it takes. Or $50 weight-room membership for the year. A second family member is $25. Under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult. The gym is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Some evenings are also available. Come have a look!
Walking Exercise The Community Centre is available on most days during the winter for those who wish to continue their walking exercise.
