This FREE class has seniors working with bands and light weights (in chairs) to strengthen muscles and improve balance. Sponsored by Community Care Harvey, all levels of fitness are welcome.  Held Monday and Wednesdays from noon – 1pm.



8:30am -9:30am

This class is great for all fitness levels and combines strength training and aerobics training for a total body workout. The class involves a variety of exercise stations using dumbbells, exercise ball, bands and your body’s own resistance to help increase muscular endurance and strength. The quick movement between exercises combined with cardio stations helps to keep your heart rate elevated throughout the workout burning calories the entire time. The best part is that this class is designed for each participant to work at their own pace in a controlled supervised environment.  Pay as you go $5. Sometimes this class is cancelled due to other activities. Please check the calendar on the home page right margin or call the BCC for details.


Monday & Wednesday 8:30am all year

This one-hour class will get your heart rate up with 20 minutes of low-impact aerobics. Then work on toning muscles. A stretch and cool down rounds out the hour. Time flies when you’re having fun. Designed for all ages. Work at your own pace and make new friends too. Pay as you go, $5 per class, or $20 for 5 classes.

Note: During the summer classes could be held outside or in one of the pavillions. It’s a good idea to check the calendar of events for any other schedule changes through the year. You will find the calendar on the home page of the website on the right hand side.

YOGA 101 (6 week segments)
3 – 4:00pm     Cost: $50 or $10 drop in
Starts Wednesday March 21 – April  25

Students will be taught the basics of a modern yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment by professionally trained and registered yoga instructor Leslie Allen. Students are introduced to the basic poses (asanas) in yoga and to the principles of proper alignment needed for a safe practice. You will also be provided a foundation in yogic breathing, meditation techniques, and the core philosophies behind each of the elements. After attending these classes students will have the knowledge and skills to walk into any basic yoga class with confidence.Yoga 101 is appropriate for both brand new students and for those returning to yoga who want a “refresher course” in the basics in order to deepen their practice. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your water bottle and mat. Register by contacting the BCC.


FIT & STRONG  Tuesdays & Thursdays 10-11am
(September – May)

For Seniors of all ages. Pay $5 per drop in. Certified instructor Pat Kahler has over 33 yrs of fitness experience. This one hour workout will burn calories, tone & shape every major muscle group and strengthen your core. Prevent osteoporosis and improve your balance!  NOTE: Starts Tuesday January 9. A very reasonable fee of $10 per month or a $50 weight-room membership for the year plus a BCC membership.  A second family member is $25. Under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult. The gym is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The gym is open some evenings for you to use. It is best to confirm but at this time it is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30. A waiver must be signed before you use the equipment. Come have a look!


The Community Centre is available during the winter for those who wish to continue their walking exercise. There is no charge. Walking inside ends the end of March. You are welcome to walk outside the BCC where there are facilities and a flat surface. We have many activities that go on weekly. Monday Wednesday and Friday afternoons are fairly open but if you are making a special trip call ahead.

BADMINTON (December – March)

We have the means to play this game…..we just need the players. If you are interested, call the BCC and leave your name and number.


This fun activity was brought back from Florida.  It’s a cross pickleball between tennis and badminton.   Play Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings from 10am – noon October – May. We have four rackets that can be borrowed or you can purchase your own on-line.  There is a $2 user fee to participate.  This activity moves to the sports pad in warmer weather May – September – Monday and Fridays 10am – noon and Wednesdays 7pm-9pm. Jasmine is your certified Zumba Gold instructor our Spring and Summer Season. Zumba Gold is for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class. Great moves at a lower intensity. Pay as you go $5.
