The Buckhorn Community Centre offers a wide range of major fund-raising activities throughout the year. As a not-for-profit organization, the BCC depends on these activities to meet its operating budget each year. • Dinner Theatre (twice yearly)
In the Spring, the event takes place over six nights in April. Tickets go on sale in February. The Autumn dinner theatre happens in November for five nights and tickets are on sale in September. May long weekend Looking to start spring by rejuvenating your space? Then the Spring Craft Show at the Buckhorn Community Centre should be your first stop. Whether you’re looking for handmade furniture, garden accessories or ceramic pottery for your home, you’ll find it at this show. But the fun doesn’t stop with your home décor. You can also find one-of-a-kind designer clothing for adults and children, jewelery and woven goods or tempt your tastebuds with local gastronomical delights such as candy, honey, jams and jellies. The Spring Craft Show is a fund-raising event presented by the Buckhorn Community Centre. Hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Monday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission for adults is $3,50; seniors and students is $3.00 and children 12 and under are free. Always held July 1, our celebrations take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until fireworks (approximately 10 p.m.) While there is no admission fee, some of the activities and food are family-priced. In 2008, we’re very excited to have a monster truck available for rides. In addition, there will be a marketplace with garage sales and crafts, children’s games, magic acts, face-painting, pony rides and musical entertainment. "Fantastic! Friday, July 18, 2008 Saturday, July 19, 2008 Discover the world of Ontario wine, beer and cuisine as more than 75 exhibitors, including wineries, craft breweries and area restaurants offer you a taste of their best. On Friday night, enjoy one of the only culinary competitions in the Kawarthas. At the Taste of Fiesta Culinary Challenge, participating restaurants and wineries pair up to create a tantalizing dish of locally grown products that will be judged by our panel of industry judges. It’s live, it’s fun and tastes good, too. On Saturday, a full slate of wineries, craft breweries and restaurants are on hand to show off their best products. You can also participate in free seminars on wine and food featuring some of Canada’s best-known wine writers and chefs held throughout the day. Fiesta Buckhorn is a fund-raising event presented by the Buckhorn Community Centre. More than 150 volunteers create an atmosphere that is relaxed and welcoming. Thursday is Preview night – be the first to view and buy new fine art “releases”, enjoy musical entertainment and delicious snacks, while strolling thru the Festival galleries. Come see why the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival was named one of the Top 100 Festivals in the Province of Ontario. The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival is a major fundraiser for the Buckhorn Community Centre. October 11 - 13, 2008 It’s never too early to start your holiday gift shopping. And there’s no better place to begin than the Harvest Craft Show at the Buckhorn Community Centre. More than 120 artisans from across Canada offer jewelery, designer clothing, soaps, woven goods, handmade furniture, home accessories and even local gastronomical delights including candy, honey, jams and jellies. You’ll find something for everyone on your list at the Harvest Craft Show. In addition to the sales of hand-crafted items, there is a children’s workshop, snack bar, and tips on decorating your home for the holidays.
