The Taoist Tai Chi® internal art of taijiquan was introduced to western society by Master Moy Lin-shin in 1970. The flowing, gentle movements of the set improve strength, flexibility, balance and internal circulation, while lowering stress.
Practicing taijiquan brings into play every part of the body and improves the health of all body systems. It strengthens the heart and lungs, improves the digestion, helps purify the blood, and strengthens bones.

CIRCUIT TRAINING WITH MIKE BLACK & PATTY HALL
Thursdays from 9am to 10:15am
Thursdays from 7pm to 7:45 pm
The exercises are designed for you to work at your own level using small hand weights, plus elastic resistance bands and tubes. Participants of all ages will move through a variety of stations set up in a circuit.
There will be a group warmup phase, followed by the timed interval station activities, then group cool down tasks. Included will be some short walking, cycling, and pacing tasks. This program will be an excellent opportunity for you to strengthen and tone your body in a fun and friendly environment. You will also take away lots of ideas related to exercise for your own personal use.
Pre-purchase as many weeks as you can attend or pay as you go at $5.00 per session
Loose fitting clothes and comfortable walking shoes required.

LOW IMPACT AEROBICS
Monday & Wednesday 8:30am
This one-hour class will get your heart rate up with 20 minutes of low-impact aerobics. Then work on toning muscles. A stretch and cool down rounds out the hour. Time flies when you’re having fun. Designed for all ages. Work at your own pace and make new friends too. Pay as you go, $4 per class, or $20 for 6 classes.
Note: There are no classes in July and August. It’s a good idea to check the calendar of events for any other schedule changes.
YOGA
Fridays 9-10:30am
Stretching is good for you! Space is limited. Call the Centre to register!
OUR UNIVERSAL GYM
The Centre has a small room with a universal gym, free weights, etc. It may be small but it can still help you get into shape. A very reasonable fee of $10 per rmonth plus a $10 BCC membership is all it takes. Or $50 weight-room membership for the year. A second family member is $25. Under 16 years of age must be supervised by an adult. The gym is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Some evenings are also available. Come have a look!
WALKING
The Community Centre is available on most days 9am-10:30am during the winter for those who wish to continue their walking exercise. There are no charges.
BADMINTON
Monday 6:30pm all levels welcome, rackets available or bring your own. $2
