ON-GOING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Buckhorn Community Centre’s comprehensive range of community programs/services and fundraisers, means that new and exciting volunteer opportunities are always arising! Opportunities include:
Fundraising / Event Support
Our major fundraising events during the year provide many Volunteer opportunities including roles such as:
- planning committees
- set-up and break-down crews
- parking detail
- admissions (greeters, ticket taking, ambassadors)
- food service
- office
- booth staffing
- security
- raffle sales
- acting roles
Office Support
During the year, the BCC has opportunities for Volunteers to help during the week in the office. Some of the opportunities are:
- data entry
- photocopying
- stuffing envelopes
- filing
- telephone duties
Youth Activities
There are a number of youth activities which provide Volunteer opportunities, such as:
- children’s parties (e.g., Christmas, Halloween, Canada Day)
- sporting events (e.g., baseball, floor hockey)
- after-school programs
- Spring break activities
Adult and Seniors’ Activities
These activities include Volunteer opportunities such as:
- Seniors’ Club
- singers
- bridge, euchre
- bingo
- Colours ‘n Crows
Building and Site Maintenance
We have a number of Volunteer opportunities which involve maintenance and beautification of the BCC site, including:
- lawn & garden maintenance
- ongoing building repairs and new projects
- painting
Board of Directors and Committees
- The BCC has a Volunteer Board of Directors that is elected by the membership for a two-year term.
- Each of our major fundraising events has a planning Committee with a variety of roles and responsibilities in each.

How Do I Apply to Volunteer?
It’s easy to apply to become a Volunteer for the Buckhorn Community Centre. Just tell us a little about yourself and what you might like to do, by printing off and completing the Volunteer Application Form (PDF) . Then, either mail the completed form to:
