About

For over 30 years the Buckhorn Community Centre has been the hub of cultural and recreational programs for families living and growing in the area. The Centre plays host to an award-winning Fine Art Festival, Wine and Cuisine Festival, Dinner Theatres, Craft Shows, Bridge Games, exercise programs and children’s Halloween and Christmas parties, to name but a few.

The Buckhorn Community Centre is a not-for-profit organization, raising funds through major annual events as well as many on-going activities throughout the year. More than 500 volunteers contribute their time and talents to make these events a success.

In 2008, the Buckhorn Community Centre was proud to receive the Kawartha Lakes Chamber of Commerce – Eastern Region’s Tourism & Hospitality Award.

The Centre has two full-time staff — Manager, Judy McWhirter and Assistant Manager, Roger Clark. In addition, volunteers staff the office during the week doing a variety of administrative tasks and answering phones.
